This one day seminar will focus on the successful development of test items and exams based on effective blueprint development. We will explore strategies to create and revise questions for the purpose of identifying students’ ability to implement safe and effective clinical judgment while providing care. Time will be spent focusing on your questions and assessments as well as developing customized strategies for your program. Finally, discussions on learner success will help to reveal programmatic strengths and weaknesses for instructional design and curricular enhancement.

  • Developing a blueprint to map test items to the NCLEX test plan, QSEN competencies, BSN essentials, etc.
  • Best practices for writing NCLEX formatted test items.
  • Discussion of strategies to assess quality of exams
  • Practice writing quality test questions

  • Keynote Speaker

      Facilitator: Dr. Anne Brett, PhD, RN

      Dr. Anne Liners Brett has 30+ years of experience as a nurse educator. She has taught across the continuum of nursing programs from LPN to PhD as well as in face to face and online venues. In addition to her teaching experience she has climbed the educational administrative ladder from Nursing Program Director to Dean to Executive Dean to College President. Dr. Brett recently retired from full time academia and now focuses on consulting and facilitating doctoral nursing education to develop the next generation of nurse educators. She has presented a number of webinars available in the NurseTim archives as well as worked with NurseTim clients across the country addressing leadership development, curriculum development, accreditation and test development.
