Nanette received her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Immunology at The University of Alabama in Birmingham and worked in biotechnology in Silicon Valley for 25 years.  She transitioned to education administration 8 years ago as the Dean of Biological and Health Sciences at Foothill College where a vibrant division developed a baccalaureate degree in dental hygiene, a state-approved veterinary assistant apprenticeship, and dual enrolment healthcare pathways.  She has been in the role of Regional Director since 2018.
