Dear Laboratory Directors and Managers,
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) expects that many CLIA-certified laboratories qualified to perform high complexity testing are eligible to test for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, or novel coronavirus infection, and is providing the following information to address laboratory concerns.

  • Emergency Use Authorization and COVID-19 Tests
  • Disease Reporting
  • Laboratory and Personnel Requirements

Clinical Laboratory Technology Advisory Committee (CLTAC)

The Clinical Laboratory Technology Advisory Committee (CLTAC) plays a vital role in advising the Department on matters related to clinical laboratories.

This report outlines a research project implemented by the Canadian Society for Medical
Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and funded by Health Canada. The project was intended to
provide the foundations for an evidence base for simulations in medical laboratory education and
to identify gaps in evidence in order to inform educational practices, policy- and decisionmaking
processes, and potential directions for further research.
