Job Description
Central Supply Technicians receive and process incoming supplies and equipment from operating rooms and nursing units in hospitals. Technicians are trained to clean, sterilize, and prepare instruments and other supplies for patient care. In some cases, special packets are prepared for certain procedures. All of these packets of supplies, linens, and instruments are processed and stored in central supply/services as directed.
Educational Programs/Qualifications
A high school diploma is required. Some Community Colleges offer completion of certain industry criteria. No state or federal licensure is necessary.
