Purpose:

     To develop and support partnerships between the two public education systems in an effort to improve nursing education. 

• CCC-CSU make up the largest contributors to the nursing workforce in the state of California
• Public nursing education faces unique challenges and provides unique opportunities 
• COVID-19 has amplified the challenges
  • Clinical facilities have largely shut students out or posed barriers
  • The need for curriculum revision has caused changes to become overdue
  • Regulations and policy have caused unnecessary burdens to nursing education overall

• This is a time to utilize the joint expertise, influence, and size of the two systems to work more closely with each other
• Develop unique solutions outside of private and for-profit institutions
• Develop a seamless nursing pathway
• Enhance programming support through policy and funding
